When I decided to start this website & blog project, I had a vague idea that I it would include a schedule for regular updates and blog posts. Yet somehow, it feels like I only blinked and the beginning of June turned into the end of July.

As I mentioned in my last post, I had scheduled my DA-100 exam for the end of June, and planned to spend the majority of my free time that month studying. This actually worked out pretty great as I did in fact pass, and learned a lot through the process. I had also booked a few vacation days for the first part of July, and as part of that I decided that a break from technology would be in order. While my vacation technically only lasted less than a week, I've found myself stuck in that mode all month, and decided to lean into it. And honestly, it's been AWESOME.

I've cycled 175 km (which is huge for me), including a 'Gears & Beers' event my local women's outdoor group put on. On Canada Day I dog-sat for a friend, and took the pups to the resilience day march. I've had some beautiful excursions out on my paddleboard, and even started transitioning my regular hikes with the pup to (very slow!) jogs...but you have to start somewhere, right?

And now that the beginning of August is in sight, I'm feeling ready to jump back in to my plans and goals. I've had some ideas for future content and am looking forward to flushing those out. I'm especially excited about some things happening with the Canadian Nursing Informatics Association, and their work on the Pan-Canadian Health Data Strategy...but I'm going to save the details for another post.

Thanks for reading!
