Welcome!

Welcome to my little corner of the internet, I'm so glad you're here. It's been ages since I've had a blog or website, but given my new(ish) job, some of the cool things I've been learning, and the fact I have a tiny bit of extra free time (thanks to the pandemic), it seemed like a good time.

Some basic background about me:

• I'm located in Atlantic Canada

• I completed my Computer Science degree right after High School. During that time I had several part-time and co-op jobs (IT support, tour guide, TA, programmer, technical writer, etc.) and was very involved in recreational sports and our Computer Science student association.

• Through all these experiences I realized that the thing that makes me happiest is getting to help others. This, along with the fact that I joined Weight Watchers during my freshman year (where I lost 65 lbs!), led me to enroll in an accelerated BN/RN program almost immediately after graduating from CS.

• After completing several student placements at my local hospital, I graduated and was fortunate enough to secure a permanent position as a bedside RN on a cardiac step-down / family practice unit. Unfortunately a back injury took me away from the bedside after about 8 months.

• Since then I've held a variety of Health-IT positions with the hospital: Technical Analyst, Business Analyst, Clinical Systems Analyst, and I'm now a Business Intelligence Analyst, which I feel is the best fit for my background of them all. In this role I create reports in Microsoft PowerBI, and I am absolutely IN LOVE with this application and the community that surrounds it.

Since starting in this role I've come across so many fantastic resources that it occurred to me how great it would be to have a spot where I can save them all and share them with others. Hence this website!
